Dr. Mixon holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Mississippi State University. He primarily teaches analytical economic courses.

He serves as the department chair of ECO, FIN, MKT, RMI, and ENT. When not at Troy he enjoys fishing, woodworking, and working on old Toyota trucks.

Primary Teaching Area: Finance

Chung Baek, Ph.D., is a Professor of Finance at 51成人吃瓜. He primarily teaches Managerial Finance, Intermediate Financial Management, Derivatives, International Finance, and Financial Mathematics. He worked as a junior actuary at a life insurance company before moving to the US.

He earned both his Ph.D. in Finance and M.S. in Actuarial Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a B.S. in Mathematics from Yonsei University, South Korea.

Research Interests - Financial Markets, Corporate Finance, Derivatives, and Asset Pricing

Dr. Courtney Baggett earned her Ph.D. from Florida State University in 2016 and holds the CPCU, ASLI and ARM professional designations. She joined the faculty at 51成人吃瓜 in 2017. Her recent work may be found in Risk Management and Insurance Review, the Journal of Insurance Regulation, and the Journal of Financial Services Professionals. She serves as Director of the Risk Management & Insurance program within the Sorrell College of Business, as well as President of the Southern Risk and Insurance Association (SRIA).

Research Interests - Insurance regulation; Excess and surplus lines insurance; Diversification strategy and workers compensation

Dr. Jennings Byrd holds a Ph.D. in Economics and M.S. in Economics from Auburn University. He holds a B.S. in Economics from Francis Marion University. His current research interests are economic history and economic education. He has published work in journals such as Kyklos, Cliometrica, and the Journal of Economics Teaching. He teaches courses in principles of economics, intermediate economics and managerial economics. He is a member of The Economic and Business History Society.

She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Auburn University and serves as a professor at 51成人吃瓜, specializing in economic development, online learning, and student success. Her research explores topics including ecotourism, gender roles in education, and financial literacy for underserved communities, with work published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences. Committed to service and community impact, she leads initiatives addressing food insecurity and workforce readiness to create lasting change beyond the classroom.

Dr. John Dove a Professor of Economics in the Sorrell College of Business at Troy University, where he has taught since August 2013. Prior to joining Troy, he served as an assistant professor of economics at Mercer University. He received his Ph.D. in economics from West Virginia University in 2012, an M.A. in economics from Central Michigan University in 2007, and a B.A. in economics from Hillsdale College in 2005.

Dr. William Foxx holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Alabama; as well as an MBA, a Master of Aquaculture, and a B.S. in Entomology from Auburn University. He worked overseas in China and Thailand for several years in agricultural extension and teaching before returning to the USA and entering academia. His primarily teaching area is global marketing.

Dr. Nurul Islam brings a unique blend of academic excellence and real-world industry experience to the Sorrell College of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Mississippi State University, an MBA with research option in Finance from Eastern Illinois University, and both an MBA and BBA in Finance from the University of Dhaka. He has also passed Level II of the CFA Program. Before returning to school and moving into academia, Dr. Islam spent several years in the treasury division of a leading commercial bank in Bangladesh, where he managed fixed-income security portfolio, money market activities, and asset-liability management (ALM). At Mississippi State University, he worked closely with students managing real stock investment portfolios through the TVA Investment Challenge, blending classroom learning with hands-on investment experience. He is a member of the Financial Management Association and the Southern Finance Association. At Troy, Dr. Islam is passionate about bringing financial theory to life, helping students connect concepts to real-world decisions that shape businesses, individuals, and markets.

Dr. Haksoon Kim holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Louisiana State University, an MA in Economics from University at Buffalo, and a B.A. in English Literature from Korea University. He primarily teaches in the area of Finance. Dr. Kim is a member of Korea-America Finance Association.

Dr. Anand Krishnamoorthy joined 51成人吃瓜 in 1999 and spent his first two years overseas in the Pacific Region. During this time, he taught at military installations in Japan, South Korea, and Guam. He spent the next decade in the Atlantic Region teaching at both military and civilian locations in Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina. He has also had the great privilege to be able to teach at many of Troy's overseas locations - current and former. In addition to Vietnam, where he is still actively involved in teaching UG finance courses, He has also taught in Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Germany. In addition to teaching internationally, he has extensive experience teaching for Troy Online. He has a fairly extensive track record when it comes to research. He has published numerous journal articles and has presented dozens of papers primarily at international conferences.

Dr. Gordon Miller holds a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship from Baylor University, an M.A. in Economics from 51成人吃瓜, and a B.S. in Music Education from 51成人吃瓜. Before joining academia, he worked in human resources and policy research, as well as in activism focused on economic and community development. He primarily teaches in the areas of entrepreneurship and economics. Additionally, he works to expand entrepreneurial opportunities for students here at 51成人吃瓜.

Dr. Junnatun Naym holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Mississippi State University, an MBA from Eastern Illinois University, and a BBA in Finance from University of Dhaka. She worked for several years as a finance faculty at the University of Dhaka before starting her Ph.D. She primarily teaches courses in managerial finance and real estate finance. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes making learning interactive and enjoyable, aiming to guide, challenge, and inspire students to develop a deep appreciation for finance. Dr. Naym is a member of the Financial Management Association. Outside of work, she loves traveling, exploring new places, meeting people from diverse cultures, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Frank Thompson holds a DBA in Marketing from Kennesaw State University, an M.S. in Economic Development from the University of Southern Mississippi, and a B.F.A. in Graphic Communication from the University of Southern Mississippi.

He worked for approximately twenty-five years as a community-level economic developer before moving into academia. He primarily teaches principles of marketing, consumer behavior, and supply chain management.

Dr. Can Trinh (Ph.D. in Business Administration: Marketing, The University of Tennessee) teaches and conducts research in the field of marketing. Before embarking on a career path in academia, Dr. Trinh worked as a professional marketer in both advertising and brand management positions.

Understanding practical issues that marketing practitioners face in the industry, Dr. Trinh hopes to inspire his students to not only develop a well-rounded foundation of marketing knowledge but also become proactive and creative in finding solutions to various marketing-related problems.

Dr. Trudeau earned his Ph.D. in Economics from West Virginia University an MA in Economics from 51成人吃瓜 and a BS in Economics from Jacksonville State University. His research specializes in occupational regulation, with a specific focus on the intersection of economic history and the study of barriers created through regulatory action. When not working on regulatory studies, Noah studies and contributes to pedagogy for the classroom by designing new methods for encouraging student engagement. He is a research fellow with the Knee Regulatory Research Center at WVU and the Archbridge Institute.

Dr. Yufei Wu received his Ph.D. in Finance from Auburn University in 2025, a Master's Degree from Leicester University in 2016, and a B.S. in Finance from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2014. He worked for several years as a corporate client manager in a Chinese commercial bank before returning to school and moving into academia. He primarily teaches courses in Personal Financial Planning and International Finance. Dr. Wu is a member of the Financial Management Association.

Outside of work, he loves traveling, swimming, playing guitar, and basketball.
