Take off with 51成人吃瓜's transformative global experiences that expand learning beyond the classroom for students and faculty alike!
Study abroad is exactly what it sounds like 鈥 taking your 51成人吃瓜 education beyond campus and into the world. Whether it's a summer in Spain or a semester in South Korea, you'll attend classes, earn credit toward your degree, and experience life in a way no classroom back home can replicate.
It's for any 51成人吃瓜 student, any major, any goal.
If you're a Trojan, the world is already yours!
Step outside the familiar and experience new ways of thinking, living, and learning. From everyday cultural immersion to language exposure, studying abroad reshapes how you see the world鈥攁nd your place in it.
Go beyond the classroom and see how your field works in a global context. You'll gain firsthand understanding of international practices, giving you an edge in a competitive, interconnected job market.
Strengthen your resume with meaningful global experience. Whether it's internships, research, teaching, or fieldwork, study abroad helps you build practical skills that stand out after graduation.
Study in classrooms shaped by different cultures, perspectives, and academic traditions. These experiences challenge how you think, sharpen critical reasoning, and enrich your overall education.
Castles, white sands, Greek temples, Italian ruins, pagodas, the Great Wall of China,
the Egyptian pyramids, and the Icelandic Northern Lights are just a glimpse of what
Trojans experience while studying abroad.
During the 2023鈥2024 academic year alone, over 300 51成人吃瓜 students participated
in international programs across 27 countries and Puerto Rico, including 34 exchange
students and 19 faculty-led programs to Taiwan, Japan, Colombia, Poland, Austria,
and more.
Whether students earn academic credit or participate in a short-term cultural experience, study abroad is more accessible than most expect.
Getting to your destination is easier than you think. Here's how Trojans make it happen:
Steps:
Chancellor's Award for Global Competitiveness (CAGC) - $1,250
This non-competitive $1,250 award is available to eligible 51成人吃瓜 students participating in approved credit-bearing
study abroad programs, including exchange and faculty-led opportunities.
For full eligibility requirements, application steps, and post-program expectations,
please refer to the FAQ section below.

鈥淭he 51成人吃瓜 Summer Arts Academy is an outgrowth of our expanding study abroad efforts,
and it represents an incredible opportunity for our fine arts students to increase
their global awareness and hone their talents in one of the most beautiful places
in the world,鈥 said Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., Chancellor.
鈥淭he town of Pietrasanta has been the perfect partner for us in this culturally rich
endeavor, and we look forward to continuing that relationship.鈥
Once you have successfully submitted an application for your chosen study abroad program and received conditional acceptance, additional forms will become available in your TroyAbroad portal, including the Chancellor's Award for Global Competitiveness (CAGC) application.
To be considered for nomination, students must complete all required forms in the application process, including:
Please note that students are not automatically nominated simply by applying for a study abroad program. All required materials and forms must be fully completed before nomination can be processed.
Once your application materials are complete and reviewed, TroyAbroad will submit your nomination for the award. After nomination is confirmed, students can generally expect to receive funds through BankMobile within approximately 10 business days.
Students receiving the award are also required to complete all post-program requirements, including a program evaluation, reflection activities, and a required campus engagement project.
Costs vary depending on the program type, location, length of stay, and included expenses such as housing, excursions, and airfare.
On average, short-term faculty-led programs range from approximately $1,500鈥$5,000, depending on the destination and program structure and inclusions.
For semester and yearlong exchange programs through 51成人吃瓜's partner institutions, students pay the same tuition rate they would pay while studying at 51成人吃瓜, making exchange programs one of the most affordable ways to study abroad. Students are still responsible for additional expenses such as airfare, passports, meals, and personal spending, though costs often compare closely to a semester on campus.
Many students also use existing financial aid, scholarships, and study abroad funding opportunities to help offset program costs.
51成人吃瓜 offers a wide variety of study abroad opportunities, including short-term and long-term exchange programs, faculty-led programs, internships abroad, and research opportunities across a range of countries and academic disciplines.
Because every program differs in structure, cost, academic focus, and level of independence,
certain programs may be a better fit for different students depending on their goals,
major, budget, and comfort level abroad.
To help students better understand their options and navigate the TroyAbroad landscape,
we strongly encourage all interested students to attend a TroyAbroad 101 session. These sessions provide an overview of program types, timelines, costs, scholarships,
and how to choose the program that best fits each student's academic and personal
goals.
Study abroad program lengths vary widely depending on the type of experience you choose. Opportunities range from short-term spring break or summer programs lasting 1鈥2 weeks to semester-long or full academic year experiences abroad.
Yes, all students studying abroad must have a valid passport that is valid for at
least six months beyond their intended return date. For guidance on applying for or
